Some messages remind us why this mission feels so deeply personal — not just for us, but for so many families walking similar roads.
Palak S. shared something that stopped us in our tracks:
“In each mail entry for sweepstakes number 3… I have included a prayer and affirmation for Luke! I know with His grace anything is possible… Please convey my sincere support to Luke and his family!”
She added:
“Kindness, love and prayers are all free and amazingly only increase as you share… Eagerly awaiting His miracle in action for Luke!”
That kind of generosity of spirit is extraordinary. When someone includes a prayer in every single entry, it reminds us that this community isn’t transactional — it’s relational.
Melissa H. wrote:
“I’m excited that I’m able to donate to amazing cost that will help many people in the world with blindness… I’m still donating to this amazing nonprofit organization because it’s amazing what you guys are doing. I believe that God is make a way and continue to keep this going.”
Even while navigating her own financial challenges, she chose to give again. That speaks volumes.
Roye Ann M. shared about her family:
“We have a special needs granddaughter who is blind. Just wanted to thank you for everything you are doing to help with the research and treatment for children with this disability.”
When grandparents reach out, it carries a different kind of tenderness. The love spans generations.
Karen L. wrote:
“I admire your work… My ex-husband was diagnosed with Choroideremia… I have watched the progression throughout the years and have wished for the medical field to develop a treatment… I am encouraged that there is hope for the future.”
Hope for the future. That’s what so many of these notes share — a belief that the story doesn’t have to end the way it has for previous generations.
And then there was Cherie B., who shared:
“I do have my eyes sight but my mom started to loss hers at the age of 9… Of anything I have only wanted to give me mom the gift of sight again and I wish kids and adults who have lost their site the same!”
The longing in that message is something so many understand — the wish to give back what was taken.
