Mother's Day Follow-up: Stories of Love, Loss & Resilience (2 of 3)

Mother's Day Follow-up: Stories of Love, Loss & Resilience (2 of 3)

Some of the stories shared with us this Mother’s Day were incredibly beautiful.

Some were heartbreaking.

Many were both.

As I read through the responses submitted during our giveaway, I found myself pausing often — reflecting on the amount of strength that exists within this community.

Not polished strength. Not easy strength.

Real strength.

The kind built through grief, uncertainty, caregiving, sacrifice, and unconditional love.

These stories stayed with me.

“My mom lost a child and somehow still found the strength to keep loving everyone around her so deeply.”

“She worked multiple jobs while caring for my disabled brother and never once complained.”

“Even during treatment and hospital stays, she was still the person making everyone else feel okay.”

“I watched my mom carry fear every day and still somehow choose hope.”

“There’s a quiet grief that comes with watching your child suffer, and mothers carry so much of it silently.”

“My grandmother raised three generations of our family after unimaginable loss. She is the strongest woman I know.”

These weren’t just giveaway responses.

They were glimpses into people’s lives.

And together, they painted a picture of what motherhood so often looks like inside the rare disease and caregiving community:

Love without conditions. Strength without recognition. Hope without guarantees.

To every mom navigating a difficult season right now:

You are not invisible. Your love matters. And your strength leaves an impact far beyond what you may ever fully realize.

With gratitude, Kristina
