For the Moms Who Carry So Much 🧡
By: Kristina Johnston Over the past few years, through A Race Against Blindness, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with so many mothers. Mothers who are strong in ways most people will never fully see. Mothers who advocate, who show up again and again—no matter how heavy things feel. Mothers who carry fear, hope, exhaustion, and love… all at the same time. And I think about you often. Because I’m one of those mothers too. Lately, I’ve felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the people who carry so much of this journey. And so many of them are moms. It’s easy for that kind of strength to go unseen. The long nights, the constant decisions, the emotional weight—it doesn’t always have a place to be recognized. But it matters. So this Mother’s Day, I wanted to do something small. Not a fundraiser. Not a campaign. Just a simple way to say thank you. I’ve put together a Mother’s Day gift basket, curated personally, and we’ll be gifting it to one member of this community. Or, the winner can choose a $500 Target gift card instead. Anyone is welcome to enter—whether it’s for yourself, o
