This page lets you control how A Race Against Blindness uses information about you for advertising, and tells you how to exercise your other privacy rights. It applies to everyone, in every state and province.
Opt out of targeted advertising and the "sale" or "sharing" of your information
We do not sell your information for money. We do use advertising services from Meta, Google and similar companies on our fundraiser store and, after you choose Accept, on the public pages of araceagainstblindness.org, that let us measure our ads and show RAB ads to people who have visited us. Some state laws call that a "sale," "sharing" or "targeted advertising." You can turn it off here.
On this browser and device. Use the control below. On araceagainstblindness.org it sets a preference that stops advertising and analytics tags from loading; the fundraiser store runs on Shopify's separate consent system, so set your choice there too, using the link below; Shopify then withholds your data from advertising partners. You will need to repeat this if you clear cookies or use another browser or device.
Automatically, everywhere. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as an opt-out on that browser without you doing anything else, and this page will show your status as "Opted out by Global Privacy Control." Learn how to turn it on at globalprivacycontrol.org.
For your account, not just this browser. To opt out of advertising use of information tied to your email address (for example, hashed email lists sent to Meta or Google for ad measurement), email privacy@araceagainstblindness.org or use the request form below. We will remove you from those lists within 15 days and keep you off them.
Opting out does not stop the emails or texts you have subscribed to; use the unsubscribe link or reply STOP for those. It does not affect essential cookies, your donations, or your sweepstakes entries.
Sensitive information
We ask for your consent before collecting health or other sensitive information and you can withdraw it at any time. See our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
Access, correct, delete or export your information
You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, give you a copy, or give you the list of third parties we have shared it with. You can also update your own email and phone number in the donor portal at donor.araceagainstblindness.org.
Deleting your information means we can no longer contact you about fundraisers you have entered, including to tell you that you have won. We will keep records the law requires us to keep (for example, donation records for tax purposes) and tell you what we kept and why.
We respond within 45 days, and we will tell you if we need up to 45 more. If we decline a request you may appeal within 60 days, and if we deny your appeal we will give you the contact details for your state attorney general. Full details are in Section 13 of our Privacy Policy.
