For the Moms Who Carry So Much 🧡

Happy Mother's Day

By: Kristina Johnston

Over the past few years, through A Race Against Blindness, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with so many mothers.

Mothers who are strong in ways most people will never fully see.
Mothers who advocate, who show up again and again—no matter how heavy things feel.
Mothers who carry fear, hope, exhaustion, and love… all at the same time.

And I think about you often.

Because I’m one of those mothers too.

Lately, I’ve felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the people who carry so much of this journey.

And so many of them are moms.

It’s easy for that kind of strength to go unseen. The long nights, the constant decisions, the emotional weight—it doesn’t always have a place to be recognized.

But it matters.

So this Mother’s Day, I wanted to do something small.

Not a fundraiser. Not a campaign. Just a simple way to say thank you.

I’ve put together a Mother’s Day gift basket, curated personally, and we’ll be gifting it to one member of this community.  Or, the winner can choose a $500 Target gift card instead.

Anyone is welcome to enter—whether it’s for yourself, or for a mom in your life.

If you feel led, there’s also a space to share a little about a mom who inspires you. I would truly love to read those.

👉 Entry Form

We’ll keep this open through May 10 at 11:59 PM MST, and I’ll follow up shortly after.

More than anything, I just want to say this:

I see you.
I respect you.
And I’m so grateful to be part of a community filled with mothers like you.

With love and so much gratitude,
Kristina, Luke & Tyler's Mum

PS. As a small extra thank you, we’re also offering 10 free entries into any of our active fundraisers using code MOM10 at checkout. Valid thru 5/10/26 at 11:59 PM MST.

  • I entered for my wife. A true champion as a woman and a mother. We lost our son who just turned 21 as he was driving to work one morning and a drunk driver T-Boned his car killing him instantly back in 2018. The pain and heartache I witnessed in my wife was devastating. Years later my wife ended up getting GBS (Guillain Barre Syndrome). I thought she was going to die, but she fought back and it has been a battle for her these last 8 years. I’m grateful that you offered this free Mother’s Day Gift to a lucky mother. I’m sure there is many stories out there which are worse than my wife. No matter what the outcome, were winning in the NOW. THANK YOU!
    GOD SPEED!
