One of the most unexpected parts of our Mother’s Day giveaway was seeing just how much kindness exists within this community.
So many of the responses submitted weren’t really about winning anything at all.
They were simply about recognizing someone who deserved to be celebrated.
And honestly, that meant everything to me.
Reading through nearly 800 responses reminded me that the heart of this community has never just been about fundraisers, research, or awareness.
It’s about people.
People who show up for each other. People who care deeply. People who continue choosing love even in difficult circumstances.
Some of the responses made me emotional. Some made me smile. Some reminded me how powerful small acts of kindness can be.
These were a few that stayed with me:
“My mom makes every hard situation feel lighter just by being there.”
“She would give away her last dollar if it meant helping someone else.”
“My wife is the kind of mom who makes everyone around her feel loved and safe.”
“She has spent her entire life taking care of others before herself.”
“The older I get, the more I realize how much she sacrificed for all of us.”
“I entered this because even if I didn’t win, I wanted someone to know how special my mom is.”
That last response really stuck with me.
Because I think that’s what this became.
Not just a giveaway. But a space where people paused long enough to honor someone they love.
And in a world that moves very fast, that feels meaningful.
