The National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) has designated the Cleveland Clinic Center for Rare Diseases as a official Rare Disease Center of Excellence. For members of the inherited retinal disease (IRD) and broader rare disease communities, this recognition highlights expanding institutional dedication to addressing complex, less-common medical conditions.

According to news reports from Cleveland Clinic, the center is one of 40 U.S. academic medical centers selected to join this first-of-its-kind national network.
