Over the past few years, through A Race Against Blindness, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with so many mothers.
Mothers who are strong in ways most people will never fully see.
Mothers who advocate, who show up again and again—no matter how heavy things feel.
Mothers who carry fear, hope, exhaustion, and love… all at the same time.
And I think about you often.
Because I’m one of those mothers too.
Lately, I’ve felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for the people who carry so much of this journey.
And so many of them are moms.
It’s easy for that kind of strength to go unseen. The long nights, the constant decisions, the emotional weight—it doesn’t always have a place to be recognized.
But it matters.
So this Mother’s Day, I wanted to do something small.
Not a fundraiser. Not a campaign. Just a simple way to say thank you.
I’ve put together a Mother’s Day gift basket, curated personally, and we’ll be gifting it to one member of this community. Or, the winner can choose a $500 Target gift card instead.
Anyone is welcome to enter—whether it’s for yourself, or for a mom in your life.
If you feel led, there’s also a space to share a little about a mom who inspires you. I would truly love to read those.
We’ll keep this open through May 10 at 11:59 PM MST, and I’ll follow up shortly after.
More than anything, I just want to say this:
I see you.
I respect you.
And I’m so grateful to be part of a community filled with mothers like you.
With love and so much gratitude,
Kristina, Luke & Tyler's Mum
PS. As a small extra thank you, we’re also offering 10 free entries into any of our active fundraisers using code MOM10 at checkout. Valid thru 5/10/26 at 11:59 PM MST.

This is for my sister-in-law, who adopted two boys.
My mom inspires me every single day. She is the most selfless person. She has Soooo much compassion for everyone, she is so thoughtful, loving, caring and kind. She’s Always there for me and my daughters and my grandchildren. She goes above and beyond for us all. She’s been through so much in her life, so much loss and sicknesses. She’s an amazing mom, and friend. She deserves kindness and blessings. I love my mom.
I am a mother of 2 and a grandmother of 1 and I have to shout out to my mother who had 4 children. She has lived through a widow maker at age 46 and 3 strokes in 2014, 2019 and 2025 and we are fortunate for her and all she’s done. When I was young I had to be driven to and from Phoenix to the eye specialist there and I know what it’s like to not be able to see (out of 1 eye). My mother and father both supported me and got me to the best specialist in the state. We are praying that you find a cure for your son! After 3 eye surgeries and a patch that I had to wear for almost 2 years, my vision came back. My vision issue was due to a traumatic car accident back in the 1970’s when seatbelts were optional. Ever since that tragic day and 3 eye surgeries later almost 48 years ago I am beginning to have starbursts in my vision. So any research that is done, I pray that you find a cure!
My favorite memory of my mom – now 94 – when my first son was born I remember looking thru the viewing area with my mom and her commenting that she thinks he has Pops ears to which I replied " how could he – I’m adopted " – to which she replied I sometimes forget. with that we both teared up – that was over 47 years ago and I recall it as though it were yesterday
