Step 1: The Fundraiser Opens

Each fundraiser has a dedicated page on our website that outlines:

  • The prize(s)

  • Entry start and end dates

  • Entry methods

  • Official Rules (always linked!)

Our campaigns often include special “multiplier periods,” where donations may receive more entries for a limited time. These promotions are listed on the fundraiser page so supporters know exactly when they’re active.


Step 2: How to Enter

You can enter in two ways:

  1. By making a donation — Your donation supports our mission to fund research, awareness, and resources for families facing vision loss due to Bardet-Biedl Syndrome and other rare genetic retinal conditions.

  2. By using our free alternative method of entry — This is always explained in the Official Rules. The legally required free entry process is managed by the same third-party sweepstakes agency that handles all entries, ensuring fairness for everyone.


Step 3: Third-Party Entry Management

We partner with a professional sweepstakes administration company to:

  • Collect and catalog entries

  • Verify eligibility

  • Randomly draw the winner after the fundraiser ends

This means we do not choose the winners ourselves — ensuring an unbiased, fair process.


Step 4: The Live Winner Announcement

Once the drawing is complete, the sweepstakes agency provides us with the winner’s name and contact information.

We then:

  1. Call the winner live during a scheduled livestream on our official social media channels.

  2. If the winner has an iPhone, we typically FaceTime for a video reveal; if not, we call via a regular phone call.
